BOARD OF GOVERNORS
Andrea Pearson is an Educational Consultant based in Chicago, Illinois who has served in various roles in education throughout her career, the majority of them overseas. During her eight-year tenure at the American School of Brasilia, she served as an Elementary Teacher, Elementary Coordinator and Early Childhood Principal. Andrea also served as the Interim Elementary Counselor at the American School of Bombay in Mumbai, India. She thrives on diverse school environments and has a deep understanding of the cultural complexities that make schools such unique environments.
Michael Ehrhardt spent a combined 14 years at Graded School in Brazil and then the American School in London as Director of Technology, Assistant High School Principal, Middle School Principal, and Assistant Head of School. He repatriated to the US to take on the headship at the Marshall School in his home state of Minnesota. He is currently Head of Cary Academy, a 6-12 School of 750 students in North Carolina. He currently serves on the Board of Directors at the not-for-profit Virtual High School Collaborative.
Barry Dequanne has worked in the field of international education for twenty years, including serving communities in Swaziland, Buenos Aires, and São Paulo. Barry is currently working as the Head of School at the American School of Brasilia. Barry is currently serving several international educational organizations in roles related to Strategic Planning, Governance, Leadership, Change Processes, and School Policies.
Craig Johnson is currently the Superintendent of the American School of Bombay, having previously taught in the US and 15 years in Brazil. While in Brazil, Craig also served as the High School Principal, at Graded School in Sao Paulo; and more recently as the Headmaster of the American School of Brasilia, Brazil. Craig received his BA in History and English; MA in Secondary Education and Administration, from Fort Hays State University, Hays, Kansas. A regular presenter and workshop facilitator, on a variety of Leadership and School Improvement topics, Craig has also published a novel (Wave Watcher), and has a second novel on the way.
CA Sunil G. Karve
CA Sunil G. Karve or “Karve Sir”, as he’s fondly called by his students and staff, is a Chartered Accountant, Company Secretary and LLB. Recipient of the prestigious “Yashashree Award’ conferred by Maharashtra Times for outstanding contribution in the field of education. As Chairman of the Governing Board, Kohinoor Education Trust, Sunil is committed to shaping KET into a world class institution which is deeply rooted in Indian culture and tradition. Sunil is a passionate crusader for ‘higher order’ education – the kind that goes beyond the syllabus and instills in students the importance of values and character. Sunil initiated a mega plan to implement United Nation’s Millennium development goals in Mumbai University and is committed to bring it to School level.
